Perfectly smoked salmon, plain greek yogurt, some fresh herbs and spices are all you need for the perfect healthy salmon dip that is fresh and delicious!
So Neil recently decided that he wanted to take a go at smoked salmon on his Green Egg. I LOVE salmon so I was all about it. My hope was to share the how-to but when cooking it took an hour longer than we thought, we were both too hangry to wait on me to photograph 😛 so that is for another time but that’s okay because it gives us another excuse to make it!
So this dip was our perfect way to use up the leftovers. We have started doing tapas nights on Fridays and it has been really fun – this has definitely been one of the stars of that!
So Let’s Make Some Healthy Salmon Dip!
So first you need some smoked salmon. Unfortunately if you read above you know that my how-to on that is on hold but I am hoping maybe you know how to do it!
Then the only thing really needing explaining in this is when I say to “shred” the salmon. Not something you hear often but it is super similar to shredding chicken! If you have well cooked salmon it will flake SUPER easily too so it won’t be a problem. I just used a couple forks but if you can’t get the pieces as small as you want them you can finish with your hands.
Then you just mix everything together! Feel free to add more spices to taste, and then we served with some veggies and crackers 🙂
In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:
- forks
- a bowl
And that is it!

- “Shred” your salmon kind of like you would chicken. I used two forks and just sort of pulled it apart (well cooked salmon will flake really easily!). You can use your fingers if you can’t get pieces small enough. Then measure.
