Description

With only five ingredients and a few minutes, you can have this delicious Saltine Cracker Toffee topped with Oreos ready to go! Everyone will devour this easy snack!


Ingredients

  • 12 sleeves of saltine crackers
  • 1 cup butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed 
  • 2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 2030 Oreo cookies – crushed
 

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line the prepared baking sheet with a single layer of the Saltine Crackers.
  3. Bring the butter and brown sugar to a boil in a sauce pan. Boil for 2 minutes, or until the mixture is a deep golden caramel color.
  4. Pour the hot mixture over the saltines and spread over crackers with a spatula.
  5. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 6 to 7 minutes until the crackers and toffee are bubbly and gooey.
  6. Crush the Oreo’s while the crackers are baking.
  7. Remove from the oven, and move any crackers that are not still in a single layer back to a single layer with a butter knife, or spoon. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the top of the crackers, and let the chocolate chips sit on the hot toffee/crackers until the start to melt – 2 to 3 minutes.
  8. Spread the melted chocolate over the tops of the crackers with a metal icing spatula, or the back of a large spoon.
  9. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo on top of the melted chocolate, and let sit until completely cooled. Once cooled, break into pieces and serve. Enjoy!
