Description

You can turn hot dog buns into delicious garlic bread in minutes! This is a great way to use up leftover hot dogs and turn them into a crave-worthy side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 16oz package hot dog buns
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 6 large cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Move the oven rack into the middle position.
  2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  3. Slice each hot dog bun in half, length-wise.
  4. Use a rasp-style grater to grate the garlic into a paste. If you do not have one, you can use a garlic press or a sharp knife to finely mince the garlic.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and garlic paste into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds or until the butter is melted. Stir in the remaining butter and garlic powder.
  6. Use a knife to spread the butter onto the cut side of each hot dog bun.
  7. Bake the buns cut side up for 3-4 minutes.
  8. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and use a spatula to flip the buns over and bake cut side down for 5-6 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and crispy.
  9. Sprinkle with salt and fresh parsley, then serve.
