Description

Gluten Free Option, Vegan Option

The perfect Halloween dinner to ensure you don’t go trick or treating on an empty stomach!  These healthy mummy pizzas are easy to make, can be made gluten free and vegan, and most importantly, are spooky and delicious to eat!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 count) of crescent rolls*
  • about 3/4 cup pizza sauce of choice
  • 1 block of Mozzarella**
  • 8 sliced olives

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Prepare the crescent roll crust (photos and step by step in post for more detail):
    1. Open the can of crescent rolls, and cut along perforated line, keeping two triangles stuck together so you have 4 rectangles
    2. Pinch together in between the two triangles at the seam so you have a solid rectangle dough.
    3. Using a note card or other rectangular item, use a pizza cutter to cut into even rectangles (optional)
    4. Move to a greased cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
    5. Poke with a fork so that no air pockets form.
    6. Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Remove the crescents from the oven and top with 2-3 tbsp of pizza sauce per rectangle.
  4. Using a mandoline or cheese cutter, cut your mozzerela into thin rectangular slices.
  5. Criss cross your cheese on top of the pizza to look like a mummy (see pictures for reference), making sure to include two olive slices as eyes at the top.
  6. Bake for an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Notes

*buy gluten free crescent rolls for a gluten free option

**use vegan mozzarella for a vegan option.  Also, it is important that you buy a block so that you can cut it the way you want to.  If you buy shredded then the mummy design won’t work.  Slices might work too.
