The perfect Halloween dinner to ensure you don’t go trick or treating on an empty stomach! These healthy mummy pizzas are easy to make, can be made gluten free and vegan, and most importantly, are spooky and delicious to eat!
The MOST festive pizza you could make for Halloween, and come on who doesn’t want to eat pizza on Halloween? It is a good savory offset to all the candy 😛 plus this pizza is actually pretty healthy! And it is easy to make which is also important when you are trying to run kids out the door for trick or treating and you don’t want them going on an empty stomach. Or you know, you just want a festive dinner for mom and dad ;). This recipe is easy but the steps for the crescent roll crust might seem confusing so I am including a step by step plus pictures to help.
How to Make your Crescent Roll Pizza Crust:
- Buy a can of crescent rolls (can be gluten free to make this pizza gluten free!) and open according to instructions.
- Lay out each section side by side.
- Roll out each section.
- Using a pizza cutter, cut on the perforated line so that you have four rectangles.
- Now, pinch along each seam to create a full rectangle that won’t separate during cooking.
- This step is optional – but if you want symmetrical pizzas you can take a note card or any other rectangular object and cut along the edges to make them nice and picture perfect.
- Move your crusts to a greased baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Use a fork to poke holes in the crusts so that no air bubbles are created during baking.
- Then you bake according to the instructions in the recipe!
- Top with your toppings and you are good to go with your mummy pizzas.
The pictures below are one for one with the steps above until after #6, then there are some extra photos to really give you the gist, but I hope these help! Let me know if you still have questions.
Ingredients You’ll Need for your Easy Mummy Pizzas:
- Crescent rolls – any crescent rolls will do! You want a count of 8 so you can make 4 pizzas. You can also buy gluten free crescent rolls so your pizza is completely gluten free.
- Pizza sauce – any sauce will do! You can also make my super easy homemade pizza sauce for a great no sugar added option.
- Mozzarella cheese – buy this as a block, not pre-shredded, so you can create the mummy look.
- Olives – I used sliced black olives for the eyes, but you could use anything you want that looks like an eye to you and is edible if there is something else you’d prefer!
Tips for the Perfect Easy Mummy Pizzas:
Okay so these pizzas are SO easy. Like your husband could make them easy 😛 but here are some tips to follow to make sure you get the perfect batch the first time!
- Don’t over-bake your crescent rolls– you will bake them alone at first and you want them to be most of the way cooked but not fried. Because you will put them back in the oven to melt your cheese, and even though it is just a few minutes you don’t want them to get burnt when you do!
- If you didn’t read the rest of this post and are confused with what to do with the crescent rolls to make them rectangular – there are step by step instructions with photos at the top of the post 🙂
- Don’t make your cheese slices too thick – then when you cook them and they melt they will all glob together and it won’t look like a mummy anymore!
And that is really it! There isn’t too much to this one but if I missed something that you have a question about don’t hesitate to ask, that is what I am here for! You can leave it in the comment section below or shoot me a DM on Instagram.
In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:

Description
Gluten Free Option, Vegan Option
The perfect Halloween dinner to ensure you don’t go trick or treating on an empty stomach! These healthy mummy pizzas are easy to make, can be made gluten free and vegan, and most importantly, are spooky and delicious to eat!
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 count) of crescent rolls*
- about 3/4 cup pizza sauce of choice
- 1 block of Mozzarella**
- 8 sliced olives
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Prepare the crescent roll crust (photos and step by step in post for more detail):
- Open the can of crescent rolls, and cut along perforated line, keeping two triangles stuck together so you have 4 rectangles
- Pinch together in between the two triangles at the seam so you have a solid rectangle dough.
- Using a note card or other rectangular item, use a pizza cutter to cut into even rectangles (optional)
- Move to a greased cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Poke with a fork so that no air pockets form.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove the crescents from the oven and top with 2-3 tbsp of pizza sauce per rectangle.
- Using a mandoline or cheese cutter, cut your mozzerela into thin rectangular slices.
- Criss cross your cheese on top of the pizza to look like a mummy (see pictures for reference), making sure to include two olive slices as eyes at the top.
- Bake for an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.
Notes
*buy gluten free crescent rolls for a gluten free option
**use vegan mozzarella for a vegan option. Also, it is important that you buy a block so that you can cut it the way you want to. If you buy shredded then the mummy design won’t work. Slices might work too.
