No more lists of 50 ingredients, here you get the chicken tenders and sauce we all love from Chick Fil A but made much healthier and possibly even tastier too – try them out and judge for yourself!

Ingredients

Scale

Copy Cat Tenders:

  • 6 chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup pickle juice
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • extra splash of almond milk (optional)

Copy Cat Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup HIGH quality mayo (I buy this one)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp BBQ sauce
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice

Instructions

Tenders:

  1. Combine the tenderloins, pickle juice, and almond milk in a bag or bowl and let marinate at least 2 hours.
  2. Remove tenderloins and pat dry.
  3. In one shallow bowl – combine almond flour, coconut sugar, and all spices.  Mix well.
  4. In another bowl, combine eggs and milk and whisk.
  5. Assemble:
    1. Dip tenderloin in egg mixture, let drip, and then dip in almond flour mixture and cover well.
    2. Repeat with all tenderloins.
  6. Cook:
    1. Place tenderloins on a greased skillet or grill pan over medium heat.
    2. Cook on one side for about 7 minutes, flip, and repeat.  Outside should be nice and crispy when you are done!

Sauce:

  1. Combine all sauce ingredients in a small bowl and whisk until well combined.

Notes

If you do not have a grill pan you can use a normal pan.
