For the Cupcakes

  • 1 15oz box cake mix
  • ingredients called for on box (eggs, oil, etc)

For the Buttercream Frosting

  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk

For the Toppers

Instructions

  1. Bake the cupcakes according to the directions on your boxed cake mix.

  2. While your cupcakes are baking, place the room temperature butter in a medium sized bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix well. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix again until well combined.

  3. Slowly add milk little by little, mixing in between until you get the thickness/creaminess that’s desired.

  4. Choose a piping tip and place into a piping bag. Snip the end off and spoon frosting into piping bag.

  5. Ice and decorate your cupcakes as desired

Notes

I used triple chocolate fudge cake mix for this recipe.

The frosting makes enough to frost 24 cupcakes – adjust measurements if you need more/less
