Description

Dairy Free, Refined Sugar Free, Gluten Free Option

Moist and fluffy, packed with melty chocolate chips, and sweetened with bananas and a little maple syrup. The best and only chocolate banana bread recipe you will ever need!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 and 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil, melted and cooled
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup dairy free milk
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • lots of chocolate chips*
  • Optional: 1/2 tbsp stevia

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.
  2. Mash bananas with a fork until most lumps are gone, and then add eggs, milk, maple syrup and coconut oil and mix until well combined.
  3. Stir in the remaining ingredients, and then fold in chocolate chips (use as much as you want for these!).
  4. Pour batter in a greased or lined bread pan, and top with additional chocolate chips if desired.
  5. Bake for 37-40 minutes, until edges start to brown and a toothpick comes out (mostly) clean.  (Keeping it mind it could hit a chocolate chip – you can always just test to see if bread is firm too).

Notes

*make sure these are both dairy and refined sugar free if desired for recipe.  Check out my Amazon shop to see the brand I buy!

Any dairy free milk will work.

For a gluten free option, sub whole wheat flour for gluten free all purpose.

You can sub coconut sugar for the stevia if desired.
