Vegan, Refined Sugar Free
Plant based SAVORY waffles when your morning is calling for something extra. These tomato basil waffles are made easy thanks to a clean mix, but definitely add a special something to your Sunday brunch.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Birch Benders plant protein mix
- 2 tbsp whole wheat flour*
- 1/2 cup water
- 3 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tsp basil
- 1.5 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients together in a large bowl, mix until well combined.
- Cook in your waffle maker according to directions until crispy and delicious!
Notes
*When I made this I did 1/2 cup mix and 2 tbsp of flour because I had used up the last of my mix 🙂 while I haven’t tried it myself, you can probably just use 1/2 cup + 2 tbsp of mix and nix the flour to keep ingredients to a minimum!
You can add more basil (or other spices) to taste – these are vegan so you can taste the batter safely!
