Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 ½ cups powdered sugar (divided)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 5 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Take the butter, vanilla extract, and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until combined and turns creamy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and baking powder into the butter mixture; next, add milk (1 tablespoon at a time) and mix all together to form a dough.
  3. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 C.
  5. Remove the chilled dough and roll out the disc until ¼ inch thick.
  6. Now, with the help of a snowflake cookie cutter, cut into shapes.
  7. Bake the cookies for about 9-10 minutes.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool completely before decorating.
  9. Arrange the cookies on a tray and dust powdered sugar on them as desired.
