Description

There’s no better way to usher in the holidays than with this simple Peppermint Fudge. Featuring two layers of creamy, decadent fudge and packed with peppermint flavor, this is the perfect Christmas treat!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chocolate Layer

  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

For the Peppermint Layer

  • 2 cups pink melting chocolate
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Toppings (optional)

  • crushed candy canes
  • mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing the chocolate layer: Combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for 30 seconds. Stir and repeat. When the chocolate chips are almost melted, keep stirring them so they finish melting. Be careful not to overheat the mixture.
  2. Add in the vanilla and stir.
  3. Pour into an 8×8 inch pan that has been lined with parchment paper.
  4. Prepare the peppermint layer: Combine the pink melting chocolate and the sweetened condensed milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds in the microwave and stir. Continue the process until chocolate is almost entirely melted, then keep stirring.
  5. Once melted, add in the peppermint extract and vanilla and mix again. Pour the peppermint layer over the chocolate layer.
  6. Sprinkle crushed candy canes and mini chocolate chips on top. Let the fudge set up for 3-6 hours at room temperature or 2-3 hours in the fridge.

Notes

  • The semi-sweet chocolate layer will be pretty thick. This is totally normal.
  • The pink layer is going to be fairly thin and runny but will set up as it sits.
  • Feel free to swap out the pink candy melts for any other color or simply use white chocolate chips.
  • You can add chopped candy can to the fudge mixture if you want.
