Gluten Free, Vegan, Refined Sugar Free
Creamy beet hummus made with beets, chickpeas, tahini, garlic and herbs makes for an easy, flavorful, and healthy appetizer or side dish that looks pretty too!
Ingredients

- 1 (15 oz) can beets
- 1 (15.5 oz) can chickpeas
- 4 tbsp tahini
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 tsp fresh thyme
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tsp chili oil (optional)
- Cayenne to taste (optional)
Instructions
- Drain the beets and the chickpeas, remove skin from chickpeas (you don’t have to do this, but it will make for a smoother texture).
- Combine all ingredients together in food processor and blend until smooth. Taste as you go and add as much salt and cayenne as you want.
Notes
Start with about 1/4 – 1/2 tsp of salt and add from there.
Remember if you don’t like spice you can just omit the cayenne and chili oil!
