Love pecan pie? This quick & easy Chocolate Pecan Pie recipe will make you love it even more! The addition of chocolate chips kick this traditional Fall favorite up a notch! It will be quick to disappear during your Thanksgiving dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 pre-made pie crust (or homemade) 
  • 1 cup light corn syrup (+ 1 tablespoon for topping)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter (+ 1 tablespoon, softened for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup crushed pecans
  • 1 cup pecan halves (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Prepare the ready-made pie crust (1 crust) as per package instructions or make your own homemade crust.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar by hand or using an electric mixer on medium speed. Then add corn syrup, vanilla and eggs and mix until well incorporated.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and 1 cup crushed pecans.
  5. Pour mixture in the prepared crust lined pan making sure to spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until deep golden brown and filling is set. Let the pie cool completely.
  7. Top the cooled pie with the remaining 1 cup pecans halves. Melt 1 tablespoon butter and mix with 1 tablespoon syrup. Brush the pecan toppings with the mixture for a shiny finish.
  8. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve with the optional toppings. Enjoy!
