Skip the protein bar and have a donut instead! You won’t believe these Birthday Cake Protein Donuts are actually healthy!


Ingredients

For the donuts

  • 2 scoops (60g) vanilla protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons sprinkles
  • 1 1/2 cups oat flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 teaspoons cake batter extract

For the glaze

  • 3/4 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla almond milk
  • Sprinkles


Instructions

For the donuts

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Start by mixing 2 scoops of protein powder, baking powder, salt, sprinkles and oat flour into a large mixing bowl. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add the egg, almond milk, yogurt, and cake batter extract. Mix with your hand mixer on high until smooth.
  4. Place the dough into a piping bag, or a large Ziploc bag with the tip cut off
  5. Grease your donut pan and use your piping bag to fill each one evenly.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.

For the glaze

  1. Mix yogurt, protein powder, sweetener, and milk in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Adjust sweetener to taste.
  2. Dip cooled donuts in icing and top with sprinkles.
