Gluten Free, Vegan, Refined Sugar Free

The lowest carb banana bread you’ll ever have 😛 This banana bread dessert hummus takes our favorite baked good and makes it into a flavorful creamy spread that you can serve along fruit or your favorite crackers.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (15.5 oz) can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 very ripe banana
  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup or agave (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Remove the skins from the chickpeas or simmer the chickpeas in 3 cups of water and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. This step is optional but it does make the creamiest hummus.
  2. Once the chickpeas are peeled or boiled, combine the chickpeas, banana, peanut butter, sweetener, cinnamon, and salt together in your food processor, and blend until smooth.
  3. Top with crumbled walnuts and additional maple syrup, if desired.
