  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 cup walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Toss the sliced pears in maple syrup, add cinnamon and cayenne, and stir until evenly coated.
  3. Place pears on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper in one layer, and bake for 13 minutes until they are soft and golden brown.  Flip pan halfway through for even baking.
  4. While pears are baking, toast walnuts on the stovetop in a pan over medium heat for 4-5 minutes, just until they start to brown but not burn.
