This two rich and creamy two-ingredient vanilla collagen latte is dairy free, sugar free, secretly healthy, and completely delicious. This drink is the perfect way to start your day!
I love using collagen peptides in my diet. They are a great way to help support gut health, joint health, and keep that skin and hair looking pretty! If you don’t know much about collagen peptides I have an entire blog post dedicated to them – Collagen Peptides Explained – so go check that out!
Collagen has really blown up in the past couple of years. The first collagen I ever used was from Further Food. They are a small San Francisco based company (now – they actually started in NYC I think!) and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting their team in person at expos and I absolutely adore them. But now I have also used others! So here is a little rundown of the brands I use and trust (you want to get good quality collagen) and how I use them differently.
- Further Food – I still buy and use their flavorless peptides and love putting it in anything for an extra boost without any flavor added.
- Vital Proteins – I have used their flavorless peptides too but also really love their matcha collagen peptides and their beauty peptides. The beauty ones are fruity flavors so they are great for just pouring into some water! They also have premade collagen waters now too which is pretty awesome.
- Ancient Nutrition – I love their vanilla and their chocolate collagen. I use it in oats (like my chocolate collagen cauliflower oats) and in creamy drinks – their vanilla is what I used here!
And if you want some other recipe ideas for using collagen check out my matcha latte recipe, and you can add flavorless collagen to just about any of my desserts!
Let’s Make a Vanilla Collagen Latte!
Once you have your collagen (I give lots of recs in the paragraph before this if you skipped that) then all you need to do is pick your milk since this recipe is only TWO ingredients!
If you are sticking to non-dairy like I did here I recommend using almond milk. Or maybe oat milk or coconut milk. I usually use cashew milk because it is my favorite, but it just doesn’t froth as well as those other options. You can also use dairy milk here and it will froth fine if you are okay with dairy!
To really make the magic happen I recommend getting a handheld frother. This is the best $10 investment I have ever made. Really helps the froth factor (obviously) but also just makes everything blend together so much better!
If you want to add a third ingredient to spice this up a little, here are some options that I have tried: a little bit of matcha for some caffeine, turmeric for some anti inflammatory benefits, or even hibiscus powder or blue butterfly pea powder for some fun colors and other benefits!
In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:
- a microwave safe mug
- a handheld frother
That’s it! What will you add to yours??
