Dessert hummus sounded like such a funny concept to me when I first heard about it. Hummus is supposed to be savory isnt it?!  Well if waffles can be savory and cauliflower can be pizzas then hummus can certainly be sweet.  And sweet hummus is the BOMB.  It is a great way to get a protein packed snack in that feels like you are almost just eating frosting straight from the package!  And I love me some frosting.  So if you love chocolate, love a good snack, and love eating clean I know you are just going to die over this chocolate pecan dessert hummus!

If you are interested in other dessert hummus options you should check out my classic chocolate dessert hummus and then my chocolate nut butter dessert hummus for that lovable chocolate + peanut butter combo.  For a traditional savory hummus try my buffalo cauliflower hummus and my spinach and artichoke hummus. Then turn it up a whole new level and make my hummus quesadillas for the perfect lunch!

Let’s Make Salted Chocolate Pecan Dessert Hummus!

The first and most important part of this recipe is the Georgia Grinders pecan butter.  This stuff is SO creamy and delicious and magical.  It is kind of on the expensive side but I promise you it is worth it.  So so good.  So once you get that you are ready to roll – all the other ingredients you probably have in your house already!

I remove the skins from my chickpeas.  I don’t know if that makes me neurotic or anal or crazy but the first time I ever made hummus I saw someone do it and it just stuck with me.  Feel free to skip this step for your own sanity though.

Then just let your  food processor do your dirty work for you!  This recipe is so easy because you just throw everything together.  And just start with the amount of milk listed below, and feel free to add more if you want it a little thinner.  Easy peasy!

In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:

  • a food processor
  • a spoon to get it all out

Be ready for dessert time to never be the same!
