Happy brownie-ing!
Let’s Make Some Salted Caramel Black Bean Brownies!
Alright so first things first you need a can of black beans! Be sure to drain and rinse them to get rid of all that extra black bean liquid. Then just throw them in your food processor!
First you will combine with your applesauce and agave and blend until smooth. While I have not tried any subs in this recipe so I can’t speak to exactly how they will work – I normally use apple sauce as a sub for oil so you can always swap for a little coconut oil. And you can use any sticky sweetener you prefer if you don’t have agave!
Then you will add your protein powder as well as a few other things (full instructions below). This is important! This is where the fun salted caramel flavor comes from! I used Ancient Nutrition Salted Caramel Bone Broth Protein and I HIGHLY recommend. It is absolutely delicious and has only good ingredients and it is sweetened with stevia. (Plus use code donutworrybehealthy to save you $$!) But you can use any protein brand you want if you have another you like! I also added 2 tbsp of cocoa powder but that was really just to get the brown color. I tried again with 2 additional tbsp of protein and no cocoa powder and I think I actually prefer those ones! So you do you.
Lastly just mix in your eggs. Let the food processor do all the work for you! But don’t add in your chocolate chips until after everything else is combined. Then just fold those in so you don’t break them all apart.
Watch it in the oven- I feel like everyone’s oven times are always so different, and you will know when they are done per the directions below.
Then enjoy PURE BROWNIE MAGIC. I promise your life will never be the same 😛
