Making homemade pizza dough is quick and easy! You’ll love this tasty dough that is a perfect balance of crispy, chewy textures. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
What I love about homemade pizza dough is the control it gives me over the entire pizza-making process. I can customize the thickness of the crust, experiment with different toppings, and adjust the flavor and texture to suit my preferences. It allows me to unleash my creativity and indulge in a truly personalized pizza experience.
Making homemade pizza dough is surprisingly easy, even for those who are new to baking. With just a few basic ingredients and a little bit of patience, you can create a delicious dough that rivals any pizzeria. The process typically involves combining flour, water, yeast, sugar, salt, and a touch of olive oil. Kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic allows the gluten to develop, resulting in a chewy and flavorful crust.
The best part is that homemade pizza dough can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator or freezer, allowing you to have fresh dough readily available whenever a pizza craving strikes. It also gives you the freedom to experiment with different flavors, such as adding herbs or spices to the dough for an extra burst of taste.
Whether you prefer a thin and crispy crust or a thick and doughy one, homemade pizza dough allows you to tailor your pizza to your exact liking. The satisfaction of savoring a slice of pizza made from scratch, knowing that you put your own love and effort into creating it, is truly unparalleled.

Description
Making homemade pizza dough is quick and easy! You’ll love this tasty dough that is a perfect balance of crispy, chewy textures. Add your favorite toppings and enjoy!
Ingredients
2 – 2 1/3 c. flour of choice (we like 00 pizza flour)
2 1/4 t. instant yeast (or one packet)
1 1/2 T. sugar
3/4 t. salt
1/4 t. each garlic powder, basil, oregano (if desired)
2 T. olive oil
3/4 c. luke warm water
Instructions
- Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add olive oil and warm water and use a wooden spoon to stir well. Gradually add in another cup of flour until dough comes together.
- Turn out on to the counter and knead until smooth, adding a bit more flour as needed to no longer be sticky. Once smooth, ball the dough and return to the bowl.
- Drizzle with olive oil and toss the dough to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and allow to rest for at least 30 minutes and has doubled in size.
- Once the dough has doubled in size, preheat your oven to 425 degrees.
- Turn out the dough on the counter and knead until smooth. Roll out into a circle (or alternate shape!). You can leave flat or roll the edges inward and pinch to create a ridge around the edge.
- Using a fork, poke a few holes throughout the dough to prevent air bubbles while baking.
- Top with your preferred pizza sauce and toppings.
- Bake for approximately 14-18 minutes or until cheese is melted and the edges are golden brown. Allow to cool and enjoy!
