A delicious and simple quick bread, this Peanut Butter Bread is packed with flavor! Requiring minimal ingredients and one bowl, it’s perfect for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.
This Peanut Butter Bread recipe is probably the simplest quick bread recipe I’ve made. This recipe dates back to the depression era and calls for only a few basic ingredients that you more than likely have in your pantry already. The peanut butter was used to replace the eggs and butter needed for typical bread recipes; both of which were hard to find during the Great Depression.
Just because this recipe is easy doesn’t mean it’s lacking in flavor at all! It’s moist and packed with that nutty peanut butter flavor. It has a texture like banana bread, and the small amount of sugar gives it just the right balance of sweet.

Serving Options for Peanut Butter Bread
Peanut Butter is great all on its own as a snack, but is delicious used in other ways. Toast a slice of bread, add some butter, and then drizzle with honey or spread on some jam. Sub this Peanut Butter bread in the next time you make French toast. Throw in some chocolate chips for a sweeter option. It also is sturdy enough to hold up for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
