Easy Ginger Pomegranate Cocktail

The holidays just got a whole lot brighter thanks to this easy ginger pomegranate cocktail. It’s festive, refreshing, made with only 4 ingredients, and is a low sugar cocktail.  Plus it is made with real pomegranate juice so it is basically a health food 😉

Making fun cocktails has become a favorite pastime of mine and I can’t wait to add more to the blog!  This one is the perfect holiday drink but I love it because it is still light and refreshing and not heavy.  Also it is not full of sugar so hopefully you can have lots of them and not be too hungover the next day 😉 if you love cocktails I’d love to hear what kinds you’d be interested in seeing so I can tailor my recipe development to them!

In the meantime once you try this be sure to check out my healthy chocolate martini, and my classic aperol spritz.

Ingredients You’ll Need for your Easy Ginger Pomegranate Cocktail:

  • Pomegranate juice – I used 100% real pomegranate juice and recommend that for the best flavor plus to keep this lower in sugar.
  • Ginger beer – this is where we get our ginger flavor! I used a diet ginger beer, also to keep the sugar low, but you can use any one you like.
  • Alcohol – I have made this cocktail both with tequila and gin.  I love them both and couldn’t decide which was better so I am posting it as either or.  Tequila makes this feel like a festive marg, and the herbal qualities of gin just pair so well with the pomegranate.  Can’t go wrong either way.  But I suggest using a high quality alcohol.
  • Lime juice – just to give us a little tang!  Of course freshly squeezed is always the best but honestly using some from a bottle will work perfectly fine as well.

And that is it!  Super simple cocktail.  If you have any questions about the ingredients don’t hesitate to ask by leaving a comment at the end of the post!

Tips for the Perfect Ginger Pomegranate Cocktail:

  • Fill your cup with ice first.  This drink is more of an art than a science, so deciding the proportions will be easiest if your cup already has ice.
  • Start small with your juice – I like just a splash of pomegranate juice in my drink, a little goes a long way.  And remember you can always add more of something but you can’t take any out.  So start small and taste and add more if you want!
  • Stir, don’t shake.  You don’t want to put this cocktail in a shaker because it will ruin the carbonation of the ginger beer.

And that is it!  This cocktail is pretty easy so there isn’t too much to it. But if you have a question that I didn’t address please don’t hesitate to reach out, I am here to help!  You can do so by leaving a comment at the bottom of this blog post, or shooting me a DM on Instagram.

In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:

  • a glass
  • something to stir with
  • a jigger (If you really want to measure your alcohol exactly)

Enjoy!
