What Do I Need To Get Started?
White Almond Bark- This is a white chocolate that is designed to melt smoothly.
Peanuts- I like to use roasted, salted peanuts.
Chocolate Chips – Any chocolate chip will work well in this recipe such as dark chocolate or milk chocolate
Butterscotch Chips – Additional chocolate chips can be used instead for a less potent flavor.
German Chocolate Bar- Or you can use additional chocolate chips.
Peanut Butter – This can be omitted completely without any consequence. Biscoff butter could be used in place of the peanut butter for a twist.
How Do I Make Crockpot Candy?
Tips For Making The Best Crockpot Candy
Be sure to stir the mixture every 15-20 minutes as once everything starts melting, it will burn against the sides of the pan if left too long.
If at any point the mixture does scorch slightly on the sides of the pan, stir it in, it will not make a difference in flavor. The keyword here is slightly. If the entire sides of the pan are scorched, you can mix everything together and test the flavor but you may have to start over.
I recommend 2-3 Tbs sized dallops for the candy size, however, you can make them as large or as small as large as you prefer.
How to Store Crockpot Candy
Crockpot candy may be stored in an airtight container or zipper top bag at room temp for up to 2 weeks.
This melt-in-your-mouth mixture of dark chocolate, peanuts, almond bark, butterscotch chips and peanut butter are an irresistible combination in this Crockpot Candy recipe.
2 1/2 lbs white almond bark
2 lbs peanuts
12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
4 oz German chocolate bar or additional chocolate chips
3 tablespoons peanut butter
Place all of the ingredients into a 6 quart slow cooker or crock pot. Turn to high heat and let the mixture melt together, untouched for 1 hour.
Use a wooden spoon to stir the mixture together, ensuring to go all the way to the bottom of the pan. Continue cooking and melting the mixture together for 1 more hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes so that the mixture does not burn.
Once the mixture has cooked together, spoon the mixture into 2-3 tablespoon-sized dollops onto a large piece of parchment paper.
Let the candies set at room temperature for at least 1 hour or until hardened.
