Sweet and spicy roasted vegetables with seasoned chicken sausage come together for the perfect one pan dinner that is ready in 30 minutes!
Sheet pan dinner are the bestttt for busy week nights. They tend to be pretty quick, and only one pan to clean?? Plus if you put it on parchment paper do you reallllly need to clean the pan? Just me? 🙂
I love this recipe because even though it is simple it is anything but boring! I used Mikes Hot Honey on the veggies to give the perfect sweet and spicy combo, plus a creole seasoning on the chicken sausage so you are really getting a whole lot of flavor in this one. But it is still so easy to pull together!
After you try this if you are hooked on the easy weeknight dinner train be sure to check out my other sheet pan dinner, my kung pao chicken. It is also SO GOOD. I also have a tonnnn of quick recipes for you over on my main courses. Easy, tasty, and healthy is kinda my jam!
Lets Make A Sweet and Spicy Sausage Sheet Pan Dinner!
So this is pretty simple – chop your veggies, slice your sausage, and toss in seasonings! You want to chop your sweet potatoes into small cubes so that they will cook quick enough. You can use my pictures for reference.
I used chicken sausage rather than traditional sausage because it is a little leaner and I am kind of obsessed with it. The one I used just had spinach in it, but you can use your favorite kind!
I tossed the sweet potatoes in the hot honey, and then the broccoli and sausage in creole seasoning (we use this one). Makes for great flavor in every bite!
The last thing I will mention is that you want to cook your sweet potato by itself for about ten minutes first. Then add the other ingredients. The potatoes take a little longer so this will make sure everything is ready at the same time and not overcooked!
In addition to the listed ingredients, you will need:
- a large sheet pan
- parchment paper
- oil
- a couple mixing bowls and a small cup to mix the honey
I hope this is a great quick but satisfying meal for your busy days!

Sweet and spicy roasted vegetables with seasoned chicken sausage come together for the perfect one pan dinner that is ready in 30 minutes!
Ingredients
- 4 links of chicken sausage
- 1 large head of broccoli (about 4 cups)
- 2 small sweet potatoes
- 2 tbsp hot honey
- 1 tsp water
- Creole seasoning to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- Chop the chicken sausage into about 1/2 inch slices, the broccoli into small florets, and the sweet potato into small cubes (see photos for reference).
- Take the sweet potato, and put in a large bowl on its own. In a small cup, whisk together the hot honey and water. Pour this mixture over the potatoes and toss until evenly coated. Spread the potatoes out on a greased cookie sheet and put in the oven for 10 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, combine the sausage and broccoli, spray with some olive or avocado oil, and then toss with creole seasoning to taste.
- After ten minutes, add these to the sheet pan and cook for another 20 minutes, until sweet potato is soft, broccoli is starting to brown, and sausage is warm (you can flip everything halfway through if you want the most even cooking – although I did not do this)

Oh my GOSH! This is the first of your recipes I’ve tried and…. I’m speechless. I made this to have for the week, and I don’t think it’ll make the night!
The flavors naturally go together, so even with salt and pepper, it would be good! But with the Mikes Hot Honey (got it at Kroger by the fancy cheeses) and the Creole seasoning, it’s THE BOMB.
I used Creole chicken sausage, so I’m sure that helped with flavor (bought at Kroger near the hotdogs). I also broiled it for 5-10 minutes to get a good char.
And healthy! 2 tablespoons of Mikes Hot Honey is like 150 cal – and that’s the only sugar. Plus a dash of oil olive. So not many ingredients.
12/10! I’ll be trying another Megan recipes this week!
thank you so much! I am so glad you enjoyed it! I love the addition of using creole chicken sausage I will have to try that next time 🙂
