This cranberry Tom Collins is a festive twist on a classic cocktail taking the traditional Tom Collins and turning it into a Christmas cocktail your whole family will love!
I am all about a good Tom Collins. I love how simple their ingredients are, how refreshing they taste, and how easy they are to make! Recently I made oven dried lemon slices for the first time and I knew I had to make a fun cocktail to go with them. The only problem was it is Christmas time and I needed something festive, so that is how this cranberry Tom Collins was born! It is super easy, made just like the way the classic Tom Collins is made, just with cranberry seltzer water instead of club soda! How simple is that?
Once you’ve tried this be sure to check out the drink section of the blog and try my blood orange martini, ginger pomegranate cocktail, classic aperol spritz, and definitely my healthy chocolate martini.
Ingredients You’ll Need for your Cranberry Tom Collins:
- Cranberry seltzer water – this is the easy peasy way we make this cocktail festive! Instead of using club soda I swapped it for cranberry seltzer water. It gives it just enough cranberry flavor to make this cocktail winter worthy!
- Lemon juice – gives this cocktail a nice tartness, and freshness. I like using fresh squeezed lemon juice but I am also not above going the lazy route sometimes and using the bottled kind. Just make sure you are not using lemon juice concentrate!
- Simple syrup – this gives our cocktail just enough sweetness, we don’t use very much in this recipe.
- Alcohol – you can really use gin or vodka for this recipe, but the traditional Tom Collins is made with gin.
- Garnishes – these are optional but make the cocktail so much more fun! I garnished mine with my sugared cranberries and my oven dried lemons.
Tips for the Perfect Cranberry Tom Collins:
- Stir, don’t shake – you don’t want to ruin the carbonation of the seltzer water so put down the cocktail shaker for this one!
- Make to your taste! If you want two shots, go right ahead! If you want only a splash of cranbarry, that is okay too. I love cocktails because they are more of an art than a science. So if you like sweeter cocktails you can. adapt with more simple syrup, if you want a little bit of a different flavor just add more of something. Feel free to make it your own!
And that is it! If you have any questions that I didn’t answer, don’t hesitate to ask, that is what I am here for! To do so just leave a comment at the bottom of this post, or shoot me a message on Instagram.
