How To Make Classic Pecan Pie

How should I store the Pecan Pie?

You only want to leave this Pecan Pie out on the counter for a few hours. After that, you will want to refrigerate it. It should last for up to 4-6 days when kept stored properly.

Do I serve it warm or cold?

While quite a few pies are served warmed, Pecan Pie is best served just out of the fridge or at room temperature. This allows the inside filling to slightly firm up like a pudding.

Description

Indulge in the timeless delight of a classic pecan pie with this irresistible recipe. Enjoy the perfect balance of buttery, caramelized pecans and a luscious, gooey filling in a flaky, homemade crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark corn syrup
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons light brown sugar (lightly packed)
  • 1/2 cup salted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup pecans (chopped)
  • 1 deep-dish frozen pie shell (9-inch)
  • 3/4 cup pecans (halved)

Instructions

  1. Thaw the pie crust based on the recommendations on the box.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Evenly lay the chopped pecans along the bottom of the pie crust and set aside.
  4. In a medium bowl mix the corn syrup, eggs, brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon and mix well.
  5. Pour the pie filling slowly on the pecans. The pecans will rise to the top; if you see any empty spots, you can sprinkle a small amount of chopped pecans to ensure an even spread.
  6. Top with halved pecans.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is just a little bit jiggly.
  8. Remove the pie from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Slice and enjoy with whipped cream or ice cream.
