Hummus is no longer just for savory lovers. This dessert hummus combines our favorite chocolate and peanut butter duo into a creamy dip that is perfect with crackers, fruit, or straight from the spoon! Plus it is gluten free, dairy free, and vegan!
This recipe is not too different from my chocolate sea salt dessert hummus (which is also drool worthy!) but it does have one fun addition.
Chocolate nut butter.
You heard me. I used NuttZo’s Chocolate Power Fuel in this recipe which is a fun nut butter made with seven different powerful nuts, AND chocolate. I love this stuff yall I eat it from the jar.
This adds a great flavor and extra creaminess to the hummus as well as so many nutrients and healthy fats. It will leave you satiated for longer than other chocolately snacks while fueling your body with quality ingredients. This is a dip you can feel good about going back for! Just try to not double dip to respect your snacking partners 😛
Let’s Make Some Dessert Hummus!
Like I said, I used a chocolate nut butter in this dessert hummus recipe to really play up the chocolate flavor. But you don’t have to! You could certainly make this with a regular nut butter if you don’t have this NuttZo on hand (I recommend Georgia Grinder’s cashew butter) and you’d still get the great creaminess. So feel free to play around with your faves and what you have at home!
I also usually remove the skins from my chickpeas after I rinse them. I don’t know if it makes too much of a difference, I have just always done it this way. I don’t sit there meticulously trying to get every single one, but I try to do most! This step is also up to you.
And just feel free to add more or less milk depending on how thick you want your hummus! Start with the mentioned amount below and increase from there if you want.
And if you have any other questions just leave a comment and let me know!
