A creamy decadent chocolate pudding made with only four ingredients – avocados, maple syrup, cocoa powder, and salt. The perfect dessert (or breakfast!) that no one would guess is actually good for you.
Raise your hand if you love chocolate. I personally am raising both of my hands and both my feet. I am a HUGE chocolate gal and I love any and all desserts that include chocolate. This chocolate avocado pudding is no exception, in fact, it is one of my favorites. I love it because it is SO easy to make, it only requires 4 ingredients, and it is super easy to make a single serving of so I can force myself into portion control 😛 sometimes I need help with that.
So if you love an easy, healthy, delicious dessert, this one is for you. If you want to check out some of my other favorite chocolate desserts be sure to try my super easy s’mores brownies, my dark chocolate lava cookies, and my chocolate almond flour cake!
Ingredients You’ll Need for Chocolate Avocado Pudding:
- Avocados – the base of course! I like to use reallllly ripe avocados so they are nice and creamy.
- Cacao or cocoa powder – to make it chocolate! I like using cacao because it has more nutrients than cocoa, but either will work! I use unsweetened.
- Maple syrup – I used maple syrup to sweeten my pudding, both for the texture it adds and also to keep this a refined sugar free recipe. You could definitely swap this out for agave, and if you are not vegan you could swap for honey.
- Salt – salt adds a depth of flavor to the pudding
And that is really it! Super easy like I told you.
Tips for the Perfect Chocolate Avocado Pudding:
- Use really ripe avocados. This will make your pudding super creamy!
- Is it not chocolatey enough? Just add more cocoa powder until you get your desired color/flavor! Different powders might act differently.
- Not sweet enough? Just add more maple syrup! Unless you have someone who is going to want it SUPER sweet and you are going to have to add a lot more than the recipe calls for, then you might want to think about adding some coconut sugar or stevia. This will keep you from messing with the texture.
