High Protein Guacamole Dip

Combining our love for all things avocado and cheese, how could that not be good?  Turns out it is amazing.  This cheesy guacamole dip is light and creamy and everything your next party needs.

I’m an avocado fanatic. Whether it’s sliced in my salads, eaten solo with a little salt, or made into my favorite guac, I can’t get enough. I even use it in baking—try my triple chocolate avocado zucchini bread or my avocado pillow cookies; you won’t be disappointed! But it took me far too long to think about combining avocado with cheese. Now that I’ve tried it, there’s no going back.

For this dip, I use cottage cheese. Don’t stop reading yet! I’m not usually a cottage cheese fan either. But after experimenting with it in a pasta recipe—where the heat helped break down the texture—I realized it has potential. In this dip, I put it in the food processor to smooth out the chunks, giving us all the cheesy flavor without the lumpy texture. My friends devoured this at our last get-together, and I think you’re going to love it too!

How to Make High Protein Guacamole Dip

This simple recipe only requires an avocado, cottage cheese, a red onion, and your favorite spices. Here’s how to make it:

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: You’ll need one avocado, a container of cottage cheese, a small red onion, and any spices you love.
  2. Blend the Ingredients: Put the avocado, cottage cheese, and half of the red onion in a food processor. Blend until it reaches your desired consistency. If you prefer a chunkier texture, add the remaining half of the onion after blending to keep some larger pieces. Or, if you’re not a fan of onions, feel free to leave them out entirely!
  3. Adjust Consistency: The longer you blend, the creamier it becomes. Start by blending for about 30 seconds, then check if you want it smoother—keep blending until it’s just right.
  4. Enjoy! This dip pairs well with pita or tortilla chips, veggies, or anything you love to dip! Experiment and let me know if you discover a favorite pairing.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Add everything in a food processor and blend until just slightly chunky.
