Crispy Air Fried Potatoes

Ah the air fryer.  What a great invention isn’t it?  If you haven’t gotten one stop what you are doing, follow this link, and get yourself the best kitchen tool you will ever have.  I love my air fryer because it allows me to make all the fun crispy foods like fries, egg rolls, and of course these potatoes, without all of the pounds of oil and fat that come along with deep fried foods.  What’s not to love??

In these air fried potatoes we’ve got ourselves a crispy outside, a super soft inside, and they are covered in spices to give them a great flavor that comes with even more health benefits.  But I promise you no one will be thinking about how healthy these are while they are digging in!

Let’s Make Some Air Fried Potatoes!

Luckily there is not much to mess up here!  I cut my potatoes in half.  If there were any REALLY big ones, I cut them in quarters.  You want them to all be around the same size so that they cook evenly, but I wouldn’t worry too much about it.  And if you want to cut them all in fourths you can definitely try that, I’d just cut back on the cook time if so.

As for spices, you can really use as much or as little as you want, and can play around depending on what you like best!  I tried to stick to a classic roasted potato feel here but you could definitely go spicy or a whole new direction if you wanted!

If you are scared of burning them just check them at the 8 minute mark, flip, and then feel free to check every two minutes.  They should be fine but as someone who has ruined some great salmon in her air fryer (RIP) I know that it can be worrisome and checking is never a bad thing!

I dipped mine in Sir Kensington’s ketchup and dairy free ranch and loved every bite.  Step it up a notch and make a batch of my vegan queso and you can have yourself some healthy cheesy potatoes too!

Air fried potatoes are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and bursting with flavors like garlic, oregano, and Italian seasonings.  A healthier option to deep fried potatoes that everyone will love!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (24oz) bag of baby potatoes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp oregano
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the potatoes in half, put in a mixing bowl and spray with avocado oil.
  2. Sprinkle in seasonings and toss until evenly disbursed.
  3. Cook in air fryer on 400F for 8-10 minutes, then open and toss, then cook for 3-5 more minutes, until potatoes are golden brown and soft.

Notes

Depending on the size of your air fryer you may need to cook in batches.  You don’t want to overlap in the air fryer, only put as many as can fit and touch the bottom at a time.
