The classic 2 ingredient bagel recipe made with greek yogurt and flour  made healthier using whole wheat flour, and turned sweet using a vanilla yogurt and cinnamon sugar topping for the ultimate breakfast bagel experience.

Basic 2 Ingredient Bagels:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour OR 1 cup whole wheat flour + 2 teaspoons baking powder + 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)

Optional Toppings:

  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar or coconut sugar

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl. add your flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt and mix to combine.
  3. Pour in your yogurt, and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Using your hands, transfer to a flour-covered countertop.  Knead for a couple of minutes until everything is well combined and the dough feels firm, and then roll into a ball.
  5. Using a sharp knife, cut the ball into quarters.
  6. Take each quarter, and roll into logs until long enough to create a circle.  Pinch the ends together with your fingers.
  7. Place the bagels on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk your egg, and then brush it on the top of your bagels.  Sprinkle with cinnamon, or with cinnamon mixed with some coconut sugar.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and transfer to a cooling rack until cooled.
